Since I still receive a lot of comments and email about the browser project that was once started by me, called Latitude. Latitude has been discussed in depth on this blog, so I won’t spend an entire new article on it. I was really quite fond of the concepts behind Latitude, but as all the members of the team have no free time to spend on it, we have to be frank after months of inactivity and call it quits.

Now that I’m releasing a wallpaper, I might as well add another one that was also requested when I posted images of my desk on flickr. It’s a series, with varying grades of subtlety. They all come in 2560×1600 resolution, so scale it down and crop it to accomodate your resolution. Add a little sharpening after resizing for extra effect!

Please respect my work by using this only as a computer wallpaper, and not in your projects, be it commercial or otherwise.

A while back I also previewed a wallpaper made out of a personal experiment where I recreated Leopard’s awesome System Preferences icon at 2 by 2 meters. Since the detail is sufficient, people requested the wallpaper-sized version. It’s too busy as a wallpaper to my tastes, but with the older aluminium Macs, it’s fun to fullscreen it and create a really big System Preferences icon :)

Grab it here:

And yes, it also serves as a great first test of my inline blog download button!

After over one and a half years, the sheer repugnancy of Icon Designer, my portfolio website, and my blog started to embarass me to such an extent that I was forced to design something I could live with. It also gave me a much-needed reason to do some real modifications to the blog to lower the posting threshold for myself. Check out the new websites, the cool new icons and client work, and read on, as I will need your help, and tell you a bit more about the new designs.

Well, it’s that time of the year again, I’ve packed my bags and me and my girlfriend are off to celebrate 3 days of guaranteed fun at Lowlands 2008. Lowlands is a musical festival, with a huge line-up of artists, cultural events, and great food and people. It’s the third year I’m attending.

This year’ll be quite different than the last, as I’ll be taking my iPhone 3G, and I’ve also taken some time apart to make a beautiful and well-optimized web application for all attendees with iPhones and iPod Touches; LL4iPhone. With permission of the festival organisers, I could use some of their decals and branding in the app to give it a consistent feel. It was quite an interesting personal assignment to flex my poorly trained Javascript and PHP muscles, but it worked out quite nicely in the end. You can check it out at LL08.com (you’ll be automatically taken to the web app if you’re on an iPhone); it’s entirely free to use.

I will also try to update with pictures and text from twitter and perhaps even this blog post by using iPhone applications, if my battery levels allow it. If you’re at Lowlands, give me a call or email so we can meet up!

If you’re eager to hear a bit more about my work, my person, and the whole story with Apple, I recommend you listen to Pomcast’s latest English episode, where I and StuFF mc discuss Apple, graphical user interface design and a bunch of other things.
