As you might have figured from my twitter updates, I spent the weekend at the locally hosted LAN party ‘the Reality’.
A LAN party is an event where a bunch of computer-loving geeks take their computers with them to play games and have fun together, which I certainly had. I made a little video to show what it looks like when over 730 people come together and go crazy. It’s HD – fullscreen playback is recommended!
While using Windows was a bit bumpy at times, the party was great and I’ve had a lot of fun.
Already looking forward to next year.

It was a great LAN party! It was the first time I went to The Reality, but I will be there also the next time! Great video!
Oh boy, here in Germany they want to enjoin them because of these gun rampages! I still wonder how anyone could think these guys would hurt anyone :(
Seems it was fun :) What games did you play?
Looks great, was this party at the WTC expo in Leeuwarden?
No, it was at the Fries Congrescentrum in Drachten. Most likely next year, too.
Awesome. I really hope to see even more posts on these parties. Quite intriguing :)
I’ve been to various LAN parties in the past, but none as large as this. My dream is still to attend QuakeCon or something and see such a crowd go nuts for a few days!
Love the video. There’s something about seeing a hall full of computers that just seems eerie, and alienating.
