20 Jan Inside Job: The new logo

Head over to Aza’s blog to read his great description of the process. After thorough consideration, we chose for these irresistible blue eyes. We’re calling this the semi-final, as our official deadline was the 19th, but some polishing is yet required. It also turned out that there was no vector resource for the ‘unbranded’ Mozilla globe, so that’ll require some redrawing :).

  1. Hey Sebaastian, get in touch with Alex, as he’s got a group of folks who are working on the “unbranded” globe, turning it into a better vector basis from which all Mozilla-based-products can base themselves. Let’s not duplicate the work too much if we don’t have to?

:O Nice works, I liked both second and third logo concepts. I thought I’ve said you this, but I didn’t…
Can you look at the third concept once more.. ? the robot thing, I think there is an angle mistake in the positioning of bot over the earth :

I mean… If the bot is in a 3D environment, there will be a relation to the earth with its angle of view.. I think you need to change it a bit

  3. Is there a chance for a wallpaper of the robot’s eyes? The closeup is awesome.

Sure; how big would you like it? Our last export was about 2400 pixels.

Gratz, Sabastiaan! The logo is very good! About the wallpaper with the closeup, not wanting to ask too much, several resolutions would be nice ;)

    good job man love it

  7. The new ubiquity logo is brilliant. not a huge fan of the overlay transparency thing, bit of a soft touch but the idea, maybe in some solid colour would be amazing.

Holy crap, who is the terrorist at Mozilla who exported you logo in a totally crappy and unacceptable 100x100px GIF and published it on the main page at http://labs.mozilla.com/projects/ubiquity/ ?!?!?!
