04 Jun Base established
Category: Personal

Well, after a solid 13 hour trip and a beefy walk around town I’ve set up base here in San Francisco again. In the next few days, I’ll be posting updates on WWDC meetings, announcements, the first shirt printing, and my presentation at Cocoaheads WWDC.

Some more images of my first day follow.

I got on the plane at Schiphol airport (Amsterdam), as usual. The signage of the airport is still stunning, in my opinion. Too bad there is a huge amount of visual noise with excessive advertising all over the place.

They even put an advertisement on these boarding gates. I flew this big 747. Rather outdated planes, but quite comfortable because they are nice and stable in flight.

After an 11 hour flight, I touch down at San Francisco International and proceed to downtown SF with a cab.

I’m staying with my friend Sean for these few days. After dropping my stuff and setting up, we walked around to the doubleTwist office to meet up with the team there, and – after some work and checking out the awesome art being applied at the Moscone (a lot of iPhone icons) – proceeded to Japantown for some great food.

We got plenty of food for surprisingly little money at the Japan Center. Closed off the dinner as the host was gesturing us to leave with some nice hot sake and a great cappuccino at the home base.

And yes, Rei traveled with me. She’s already made some friends.

    I love your personal posts.

  3. You should check out Ritual Roasters on Valencia – the best coffee place in town. Or if you’re feeling adventurous, there’s the Samovar Tea Lounge near the Metreon where Ev Williams and Kevin Rose hang out.
